Vehicles and Machines in Lumberjack's Dynasty
Quest junk first, crane trailer second, Ponsse last. Half cash plus Social Points at the dealers.
Lumberjack’s Dynasty sells a lot of steel and almost no stats on the dealer plaque. You buy blind unless you bring a list. This page is roles and unlocks. Exact Euro and Social Point splits live on the vehicle tier list. Do not shop here until Getting Started has given you Oliver’s tractor and Isaac’s trailer.
Two dealers and one SP trick
North-east (NE) and south-west (SW) lots stock different machines. Some items appear at both. Quest rewards say Unlock in community tables. Every priced vehicle can be bought for the full Euro amount or for half Euro plus the same amount of Social Points. That is why neighbour repairs on make money are not flavour.
If a vehicle sinks, vanishes, or refuses a hitch, open the map and use the tow option on its icon. Looking at the model is not always enough. Fuel at the farm tank after a bulk delivery. Empty tanks on a slope are how people call a tow for a machine they still own.
Quest fleet (free, ugly, essential)
- Old pickup — Christine / uncle line. Your first map car.
- Old tractor — Oliver. First real puller.
- Old wood trailer with crane — Isaac. First loader.
- Old tipper — Connor in older notes.
- Old forklift — a quest can put one in your hands; trade or keep.
- James’s flatbed — often loaned for a job, not a gift. Do not sell a loaner.
- Old Timberjack — Carson after planting and grinding are unlocked from Isaac’s second visit.
Uncle’s shiny tutorial tractor is a demo. It walks out of your life. Build the junk fleet on purpose.
Mid-game buys that pay
Grapple Crane Wood Trailer (~21,000 Euro, or 10,500 + 21,000 SP) replaces Isaac’s crate. Fliegl DK 110-88 is a dump/bark style trailer. Stump grinder and tree planter are cheap compared with a harvester and required for clean replants on logging. High Capacity Forklift (~4,000 Euro) moves pallets at the mill without tears.
Tractors: Gecko Strong 09, Gecko Smart 49et, Gecko Smart 431et / 451et class. Horsepower climbs from the old 23 toward 100–144 on the Smart line. Buy a tractor when the old one cannot pull the trailer you actually use, not because the paint is nicer. Mechanic skill ranks from the number of equipment pieces you own; a new tractor can unlock paint and later parts. Details overlap the mechanic videos, but the rule is: own more machines, then upgrade them in the workshop.
Pickup 4x4 (~12,000) and Buggy (~14,000) are travel toys. Platform truck (~24,000) moves pallets. Lawn mower (Steert 12L) is a completionist buy.
Ponsse licensed machines
Toplitz partnered with Ponsse. Three machines matter:
- Ponsse Bison — ~165,000 Euro (82,500 + 165,000 SP). Log forwarder. You load the bunk and drive. SW lot in community tables.
- Ponsse Scorpion — ~180,000 (90,000 + 180,000 SP). Harvester. Cuts and processes in the stand. SW/NE.
- Ponsse Cobra — ~192,000 (96,000 + 192,000 SP). The extra horsepower (about 130 vs 120) over Scorpion. NE.
The video on this page is the update that added them. They do not erase fines. A Scorpion in a red trunk is a fast ticket. Use Engineer’s Sight. Use yellow borders. Then enjoy the crane.
Buy Ponsse after the uncle loan and after you understand mill drying. A Cobra with nowhere to dry planks is a very expensive lawn ornament.
Mechanic skill and workshop
Mechanic level 1 arrives with early equipment (Christina/Christine’s pickup is the usual first piece). Later ranks track how much equipment you own, not a trainer. Level 2 is associated with paint on refurbished machines. Level 3 opens deeper part upgrades (engine, brakes, fuel). New vehicles can be painted without the same grind. Workshop repairs are nail-gun cousins: walk around, Sight on, click nodes, pay for parts if the build asks.
If a hitch prompt is missing, the game has removed trailer-on-trailer chains in later patches. Pull one trailer. The updates hub notes the Ponsse patch also fixed several suspension and social-point bugs.
What to buy in order
- Keep quest tractor + crane trailer.
- Better chainsaw (wood-market NPC, often ~4,000).
- Better crane trailer and forklift.
- Stump grinder + planter.
- Timberjack via Carson.
- Stronger tractor if towing demands it.
- Ponsse Scorpion or Cobra, then Bison if forwarding is the bottleneck.
Cross-check every price on the vehicle tier list. If your dealer screen differs, a patch moved a lot; trust the live plaque and the SP toggle.
Cars do not cut trees. Harvesters do not dry planks. Buy the machine that removes the bottleneck you felt this week, then go back to logging.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where are the vehicle dealers?
Two lots: north-east and south-west. Stock differs. Quest machines never sit on those lots until you own them.
How does the Social Point discount work?
Pay half the Euro price plus the full amount in Social Points. Neighbour jobs on make money feed that pool.
Bison, Scorpion, or Cobra first?
Scorpion or Cobra if cutting is slow; Bison if you can cut but cannot haul. All three are late-game. See the vehicle tier list.
My vehicle disappeared. Now what?
Open the map, select its icon, and call a tow. Looking at empty grass is not the recovery menu.
