Lumberjack's Dynasty Mill Profits and Dry Times
Ten in-game days, then sell dry planks. Oak first, pine as filler, factory after the loan.
This is the number closet for Lumberjack’s Dynasty. Strategy lives on make money. Species live on the tree tier list. SKUs live on the product tier list. Here we keep the mill board, the dryer clock, and the uncle-versus-factory argument in one place so you can reread it while a pallet dries.
Figures come from player boards around 1.0 and from long series that compared factory-first with loan-first. Your plaque can differ. If it does, your plaque is correct.
Dryer clock
Dry planks take about ten in-game days. The mill is not broken because the pallet is still wet on day three. Engineer’s Sight shows dryness the same way it shows a cracked wall.
Do not sleep ten times in a row. Community money runs that cook and shop during those days still print on the order of a couple of thousand Euro per day from food alone. Ten days of that is twenty thousand beside the pallet. Sleeping the calendar throws that away. Mix in cooking and nail-gun jobs.
Example pallet prices (dry planks)
Recorded examples, per pallet:
- Oak dry planks — about 360
- Birch dry planks — about 330
- Pine dry planks — about 210
That gap is the whole land-shopping argument. A pine forest is not “bad.” It is a volume farm. An oak forest is a value farm. Mixed stands are how you keep the dryer fed without pretending pine is oak.
Wet logs sell. They sell badly. Treat them as emergency fuel, not as a product line.
Bark and chips
Bark has been logged in community tables with different Euro per species (birch, oak, spruce, pine in a rough 8–15 band). Chips and chipboard appear when the mill extras are repaired. A Ponsse-era patch tried to fix silo confusion and trailer load heights for bark and chips. If your silo lies, save, restart, and check updates.
A dedicated bark trailer (Fliegl class) is optional. A crane trailer is not. Rank that on the vehicle tier list.
Sawmill switch
After you repair the sawmill in Getting Started, a switch chooses logs versus blanks. Leaving it on the wrong product is a silent wage cut. Walk to the switch when you change plan. Sight the mill buildings the same day you Sight a forest; repair nodes there unlock capacity.
Pallets need a forklift or a platform truck. Hand-nudging is how people decide the mill is “clunky” when they are missing a 4,000 Euro lift.
Uncle loan versus furniture factory
The video on this page is a mill-focused money episode that also hits the factory argument. Player tests that ran both orders on the same calendar found:
- Factory-first prints some furniture cash.
- Loan-first unlocks dating, extra vehicles, stump/plant follow-ups, and large build quests (including a reported ~200,000 Euro construction payout).
- Time-for-time, loan-first wins because those unlocks are not cosmetic.
Wiki recommendation: pay the uncle, keep drying S-tier planks, then buy the factory for the Furniture creator achievement and extra SKU. Make money is the prose version of this paragraph.
A simple daily target
If food plus chores average ~2,000 a day, ten dry days are ~20,000 beside whatever the oak pallet stack is worth. Add one oak cycle and you are looking at a loan payment, not a snack. That is why logging legality matters: a fine on day eight of a dry cycle is a tax on work you already did.
Fuel: 1000 L farm delivery is cheaper per litre than panic pumps. Dead machines do not haul pallets.
When the numbers feel wrong
- Board low on oak? Sell birch and pine, plant oak, wait.
- Dryer empty? You have a logging or trailer problem, not a price problem.
- Dryer full of unsold pallets? You have a forklift or a sales-point problem.
- Factory looks juicier than oak? Check whether the loan is gone. If not, it is not juicier.
Print nothing. Glance at this page, glance at the board, cut legally, wait, sell. That is mill profits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many days do planks take to dry?
About ten in-game days. Use Engineer's Sight to confirm dryness. Do not sleep the whole wait.
What is the best pallet to sell?
Dry oak, then dry birch, then dry pine on typical boards. Always read the live mill plaque.
Should I buy the furniture factory to make mill money?
Not before the uncle loan is paid. The factory is a late SKU and an achievement, not a starter business.
Why include cooking on a mill page?
Because the dryer clock is cooking time. Ignoring the kitchen while you wait is leaving Euro on the stove. See cooking.
