How to Make Money in Lumberjack's Dynasty

Pay the uncle, dry oak and birch, cook every night, and ignore the factory until the loan is gone.

How to Make Money

Cash in Lumberjack’s Dynasty is Euro, not an abstract sim token. The valley charges you for fuel, land, machines, and a family loan. Players stall in two places: they never repair the mill, or they buy the furniture factory before the uncle is paid. This page is the order of operations. Numbers and drying times sit on mill profits. Field technique sits on logging.

The uncle loan is the gate

Until the camp is yours, several systems stay locked or muted: dating, some vehicle quests, stump-and-plant follow-ups, and the big construction jobs that pay lump sums (players report a late build payout around 200,000 Euro). The furniture factory looks like a money printer. Time-for-time tests from long-running series show that factory-first delays those unlocks and loses more than it prints. Pay the loan. Then buy the factory if you still want the Furniture creator achievement.

Social Points are the second currency. Dealers sell most machines at full Euro or at half Euro plus the same amount of SP. Neighbour repairs, help quests, and staying legal on cuts feed SP. Fines drain both wallets.

Week-one cash (no forest required)

  1. Nail-gun jobs. Every broken barn is a cheque. Circle with Engineer’s Sight. Take the wood the NPC says you can keep.
  2. Cooking. Buy out eggs, milk, pumpkins, tomatoes, zucchini, roach, and mushrooms from every shop and café. Cook at home. Sell dishes. Read each cookbook once and sell the book back.
  3. Mill repair. The switch between logs and blanks matters. Wet logs are poor. Dry plank pallets are the real product. Oak pallets sit near 360, birch near 330, pine near 210 in commonly recorded prices. Confirm on the mill board; prices move.
  4. Fuel delivery. Order 1000 litres to the farm from a station. Bulk fuel undercuts pump prices and stops death-by-a-thousand fill-ups.
  5. Apples on your orchard. Pick them. They are free stock for the kitchen.

The video above is a full early-money session: quests first, then a first forest only after a trailer exists. Do not copy a late-game Ponsse route on a fresh save.

Mill loop (the real job)

A healthy mill day:

  • Cut a legal stand (your land or a paid job).
  • Delimb and buck to trailer length.
  • Haul to the mill pond or yard.
  • Start drying. About ten in-game days for dry planks.
  • Do not sleep those ten days in a row. Cook, repair, fish, and run shops while wood dries.
  • Sell dry pallets. Keep bark and chips if the mill is set up for them; they are extras.

Players who average a couple of thousand Euro a day from food and odd jobs still make more from a single dry oak cycle. That is why mill profits exists as a tool page: it is the same loop with the board prices spelled out.

Chipboard and furniture come later. Furniture needs the factory and a plank pipeline — the full trade-off lives on furniture factory. If the pipeline is empty, the factory is a building that eats time.

Forests and land

Buy land when you can process it. The full shopping method is on buy forests: Sight the species counts, pay cash on cheap plots, never expect a resale. Oak and birch are value. Pine is volume. Spruce is a volume cousin. The tree tier list is the rank list. After a clear-cut, grind stumps and replant or the stand is a brown hole that will not pay again.

Do not cut the pretty trees along the public road. That is how fines erase a day’s mill. Property lines are visible with Sight. If the video in logging and this page disagree on a price, trust the mill board in your build; patches shuffled numbers during Early Access and 1.0.

What to spend on

Early: chainsaw upgrade from the wood-market NPC (often quoted around 4,000 Euro), Isaac’s trailer if you somehow missed the quest reward, then a better crane trailer. Mid: stump grinder, planter, Timberjack from Carson. Late: Ponsse Scorpion or Cobra for harvest, Bison for forwarding. Prices and SP splits live on the vehicle tier list.

Skip the buggy and the lawnmower until you are buying toys. They do not pay the loan. The Pickup 4x4 is a comfort buy for map travel, not a logging tool.

Social Points as money

Help ten, twenty-five, fifty people for the neighbour achievements, but also because SP halves machine prices. A 180,000 Scorpion becomes 90,000 Euro plus 180,000 SP. That is how late machines enter a save that cooked and repaired instead of only cutting pine.

Stay legal. One red trunk can wipe the SP you needed for a half-price forklift. The logging icons are cheaper than any apology.

A simple target

Aim to clear the uncle loan with mill pallets plus cooking, not with a factory rush. Once the camp is yours, dating starts (marriage), big build quests appear, and the vehicles page becomes a shopping list instead of a wish list. That is the money guide in one sentence: loan, dry wood, then machines.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Furniture factory or uncle loan first?

Uncle loan first. Factory cash does not unlock dating, extra vehicles, or the large build quests. Details overlap with mill profits.

What pays more, cooking or logging?

Cooking funds the first days and idle mill time. Dry oak and birch pallets overtake cooking once the mill runs. Do both; see cooking.

How long does wood take to dry?

About ten in-game days for dry planks. Use that time to cook and repair instead of sleeping the calendar away.

When should I buy my first forest?

After you own a trailer and can read legal cuts. Check species on the listing using the tree tier list.
